Virtual individual counselling provides a confidential space to explore challenges, develop coping strategies and work toward meaningful personal goals.
Counselling can be beneficial to anyone who is ready to process, grow or make positive changes in their lives and are willing to commit to the work required.
There is a misconception that you must be going through a crisis or a major problem to participate in counselling. This is not the case, counselling can be helpful to many people to understand themselves or navigate life in healthier ways.
My approach is client centred and paced. I understand that counselling can be a new and uncomfortable experience for those who have never tried it. I do my best to make new clients feel at ease and work collaboratively together towards mutually set goals. If you would like to read more about my experience and education, you can click here
Sessions are 50 minutes in length and typically start with a check-in and opportunity for clients to highlight any present concerns they’d like to discuss in session. For first time clients, this will also include what you hope to get from counselling or what is bringing you at this time. For returning clients, we may continue a topic previously discussed associated with identified goals or a new one. We may also discuss homework assigned during last session. Homework can include worksheets or a reflection prompt related to our work together.
Virtual Appointments can be done by video through my counselling platform or by phone. First time clients will be asked to set up an account and thereafter receive email appointment updates and receipts.
